Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) put an additional nine points on the board on top of its 34-point lead going into the fourth quarter to beat out Palo Verde (Las Vegas, Nev.) 71-28.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Nathan Starks in the first quarter, the Gaels led 42-14 at the half.
Bishop Gorman expanded its lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. BG scored three times in the third, including once on a kick return touchdown by
Justin Sweet.
With the win the Gaels extended their winning streak to eight games. Bishop Gorman defeated the Mustangs 78-13 last week.
Parker Rost made a difference for the Panthers. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to five on the year.
Anu Solomon played well for BG in the victory. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. A member of the Top 25 Combo Quarterbacks, Solomon has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Gaels came away with a 35-7 victory.
The loss comes after Palo Verde defeated Legacy 28-16 last week.
