After flying high against the Belle Fourche Broncs last Friday, the Spearfish Spartans came back down to earth. Spearfish received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 59-42 to Aberdeen Central. Spearfish has not had much luck with Aberdeen Central recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Spearfish's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Seth Hamilton, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bennett Kortan, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Spearfish's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-1. As for Aberdeen Central, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Spearfish will head out on the road to face off against Riggs at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Aberdeen Central will be home for the holidays to greet Sturgis Brown at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
