Meanwhile, Red Lion gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 9-4 win over South Western. The game was the first time the Lions have beaten the Mustangs on their field since May 11, 2022.
Steven Bowman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Red Lion is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-6-1 otherwise. Bowman was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Braydan Cobb looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Jeremiah Morales was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Red Lion: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-6-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Connor Lawrence, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
Red Lion lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Red Lion's victory bumped their record up to 8-6-1. As for Central York, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
Red Lion's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Central York hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. It's a different story for Red Lion, though, as they've only averaged .236. Will they be able to contain Central York's hitters?
