Iola is 9-1 against Osawatomie since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Iola Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Osawatomie Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Osawatomie took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Iola, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Iola earned a 49-41 victory over Anderson County. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Iola.
It was another big night for Landon Weide, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mac Leonard, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Osawatomie's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a hard 71-54 fall against Santa Fe Trail. Osawatomie has not had much luck with Santa Fe Trail recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Iola's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Osawatomie, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11.
Iola beat Osawatomie 74-63 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Iola since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
