It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Arp Tigers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 39-36 win over De Kalb. The win was familiar territory for Arp who now have three in a row.
Frank Smith was his usual excellent self, rushing for 111 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 297 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt. Smith is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Zane Bourque was another key contributor, picking up 141 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Arp is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for De Kalb, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Arp will face off against Harmony at TBD on Friday. Harmony will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. De Kalb does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
