Last Tuesday, Crisp Academy had to suffer through a rough 64-35 loss at the hands of Fullington Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Crisp Academy in their matchups with Fullington Academy: they've now lost seven in a row.
Crisp Academy might have lost, but man, Tucker Ellenberg was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Ellenberg hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Brody Ashton was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Twiggs Academy won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were beaten by Memorial Day 71-33. Twiggs Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-13.
Despite their loss, Twiggs Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Josh Nobles, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Athen Taylor, who scored six points along with two steals.
Twiggs Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They are winless (0-4) when they just don't pass the ball.
Crisp Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Twiggs Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-19.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Crisp Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 36.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Twiggs Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.1 rebounds per game.
