Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Washburn). Everything went their way against the Clinch Wildcats on Thursday as the Washburn Pirates made off with a 106-81 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 57-34.

Leading Washburn to victory were Dillon Mullins and Matthew Harville. Mullins went 17 of 27 on his way to 41 points, while Harville almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Mullins has scored at least a third of Washburn's points. Justin Bailey was another key player, going 6 for 13 en route to 16 points and five boards.

Washburn smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Washburn's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-15. As for Clinch, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-2.

Washburn will host Cumberland Gap at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Clinch, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Independent Athletic Ministries at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Clinch's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
