The Clear Creek Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Clear Falls Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Clear Creek fell victim to Dickinson's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Gators 34-0. While losing is never fun, Clear Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Dickinson is ranked 16th).
Clear Falls fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They enjoyed a cozy 23-6 victory over Clear Lake on Friday.
Clear Falls can attribute much of their success to Dylan Proctor, who rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Proctor was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 64 yards. Cameron Kern and his 124 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Clear Falls' victory.
Clear Falls' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB eight times. The heavy lifting was done by Preston Pitts and Mason Paterson who racked up six sacks between them.
This is the second loss in a row for Clear Creek and nudges their season record down to 6-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-4 Clear Springs (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 74.4% over those games). As for Clear Falls, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Clear Creek was dealt a bruising 47-9 defeat at the hands of Clear Falls in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Will Clear Creek have more luck at home instead of on the road?
