The South Ripley Raiders won the last time they faced the South Dearborn Knights, and things went their way on Tuesday too. South Ripley walked away with a 51-40 victory over South Dearborn.
South Ripley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lydia Cornett out in front who scored 11 points along with four steals. Reese Obendorf was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, South Dearborn still got an impressive performance from Zoey Heizer, who scored 11 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Heizer has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Cantrell, who scored nine points.
South Ripley has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for South Dearborn, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.
South Ripley will be playing at home against Southwestern at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Southwestern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Thursday. As for South Dearborn, they will head out on the road to challenge Lawrenceburg at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lawrenceburg presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Dearborn in Indiana (Lawrenceburg is ranked 165th, while South Dearborn is ranked 334th).
