West Boca Raton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Southridge a 5-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulls.
Not much got past Corey Jordan, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Southridge off the board. Jordan has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tayegan Briskey was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of West Boca Raton's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 5-2 (and 10-13 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Dodson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, St. Thomas Aquinas waltzed into their game on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Everything went their way against the Bulldogs as they made off with a 17-0 victory. Considering the Raiders have won 18 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Julian Diaz looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Jonathan Lopez and Jaden Doverspike did most of the damage at the plate: Lopez went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Doverspike went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave Doverspike a new career-high. Nico Sabatino was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
St. Thomas Aquinas lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in ten consecutive matchups.
St. Thomas Aquinas pushed their record up to 23-5-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for West Boca Raton, the win got them back to even at 15-15.
West Boca Raton suffered a grim 13-5 defeat to St. Thomas Aquinas in their previous meeting on April 4th. Can the Bulls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
