The South Philadelphia Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Roxborough Wolves at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. South Philadelphia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 683rd, while Roxborough is ranked 259th).
Last Thursday, South Philadelphia lost to Sayre at home by a decisive 56-39 margin.
Meanwhile, Roxborough waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins but they left with four. They managed a 57-51 win over High School of the Future.
Roxborough's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sahir Smith, who scored 13 points along with five steals and three blocks. Smith hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Jones, who scored 12 points along with six assists and three steals.
South Philadelphia's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Roxborough, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
Everything went South Philadelphia's way against Roxborough when the teams last played back in December of 2021 as South Philadelphia made off with a 65-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Philadelphia since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
