The Brighton Bengals waltzed into their game Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 56-42 win over First Baptist Christian. This was payback for Brighton, who suffered a 55-44 loss the last time these two teams met.
Brighton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Damon Scott out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Judge Robertson, who scored 15 points.
Brighton's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for First Baptist Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brighton will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics at 7:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024. First Baptist Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Open Door Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Open Door Christian Academy is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
