Northwestern had lost four straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-9 to make it five. They came up short against the Graham Local Falcons, falling 18-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 last Thursday.
Northwestern got a good showing from Blake Williams, who struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and eight unearned) runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, Brody Grimm made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Northwestern: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Filler, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
As for Graham Local, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-4. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Graham Local's side, Adam Levy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Levy was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Holden Dunham, who went 4-for-5 with three runs and three RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carsen Rogers, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
