The Higley Knights entered their tilt with the Casa Grande Cougars with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Higley walked away with a 59-47 win over Casa Grande on Monday. Given Higley's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Casa Grande is ranked 183rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Higley was led to victory by Luke Haugo and Noah Gloor. Haugo dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while Gloor scored 23 points along with seven assists. Gloor is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Donovan Dabney, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Casa Grande still got an impressive performance from Tayven Williams, who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Phinneas Linehan, who scored five points.
Higley has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Casa Grande, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.
