The Shabach Christian Academy Blue Eagles pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Riverdale Baptist 63-59. While losing is never fun, Shabach Christian Academy Blue can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Riverdale Baptist is ranked 31st).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverdale Baptist to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cannon Greene, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Greene pulled down eight or more rebounds. Jackson Furman was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Shabach Christian Academy Blue and nudges their season record down to 11-12. As for Riverdale Baptist, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-14 record this season.
Shabach Christian Academy Blue will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Varsity Opponent on February 29th. As for Riverdale Baptist, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 62-55 win vs. Rock Creek Christian Academy on the 8th.
