Softball Recap: Wakeland Has No Trouble Against Turner

Wakeland was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Turner on Thursday. The Wolverines put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 13-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won 17 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Jordan Mcnees looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maggie Drake, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Faris, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Wakeland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .560. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Turner only posted an OBP of .154.

Wakeland's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Turner, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Wakeland nor Turner have any future games scheduled.
