Two dominant backs in Brandon Pinkerton and Ossie Burkeen are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. East Rutherford will head out to challenge East Burke at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Rutherford will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
East Rutherford's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 35-0 victory over Patton. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cavaliers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Panthers are ranked 379th).

East Rutherford relied on the efforts of Jason Arrowood, who picked up 116 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Landon Flynn, who threw for 138 yards and three TDs. Those 116 receiving yards gave Arrowood a new career-high.
East Rutherford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 206 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 206 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, East Burke made easy work of Chase on Friday and carried off a 38-14 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Cavaliers just coasted through the last quarter.
East Rutherford better keep an eye on Carter Bennett. He was instrumental in East Burke's win, rushing for 128 yards and one score. They are 3-1 when Bennett posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 0-4 otherwise.

East Rutherford's record now sits at 7-1. As for East Burke, their record is now 3-5.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. East Rutherford has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 251.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like East Burke struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 165 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
East Rutherford came up short against East Burke in their previous meeting back in September of 2016, falling 20-10. Can East Rutherford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
