A well-balanced attack led the Grand County Red Devils over the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Grand County was the clear victor by a 54-34 margin over Gunnison Valley. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Grand County has posted since December 16, 2023.
Cadence Kasprick continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with nine steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gemma Phillips, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Gunnison Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Maile Ha'o. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points. Ha'o is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Rylee Bartholomew, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Grand County and bumps their season record up to 10-5. As for Gunnison Valley, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grand County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Panguitch at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Panguitch will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak. As for Gunnison Valley, Gunnison Valley and North Sevier will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
