Sedgwick hasn't had much luck against Moundridge recently, but that could start to change on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Sedgwick Cardinals take on the Moundridge Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Sedgwick is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-41 heartbreaker at the hands of Lyons.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ella Vondracek, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gaby Petersen, who posted eight points in addition to seven boards and five assists.
Even though they lost, Sedgwick smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Moundridge's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Tuesday. They fell 55-43 to Little River. The loss was the Wildcats' first of the season.
Sedgwick will have to contain Cammi Unruh as she made an impact in Moundridge's last game. She went 5 of 12 on her way to 15 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Patrick, who put up eight points.
Sedgwick's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Moundridge, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Sedgwick has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Moundridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Sedgwick lost to Moundridge at home by a decisive 51-33 margin when the teams last played back in February. Can Sedgwick avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
