The Terre Haute South Vigo Braves are taking a road trip to face off against the Living Water Homeschool Marlins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Terre Haute South Vigo will be strutting in after a win while Living Water Homeschool will be coming in after a loss.
On Monday, Terre Haute South Vigo needed a bit of extra time to put away Riverton Parke. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 7-3. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Emma Cesinger spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits.
On the hitting side, Lakyn Hadley and Samarra Newburn did most of the damage at the plate: Hadley went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Newburn went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Newburn continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Maiya Childs also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Terre Haute South Vigo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Living Water Homeschool came up short against Cathedral on Wednesday, falling 13-3. The Marlins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Living Water Homeschool saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Macy Bush, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Living Water Homeschool's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Terre Haute South Vigo, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-8.
Terre Haute South Vigo was able to grind out a solid victory over Living Water Homeschool in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 11-8. Do the Braves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Marlins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
