Tyner Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences likes a good challenge.
Tyner Academy stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 80-37 victory over Bledsoe County at home. Given Tyner Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while Bledsoe County is ranked 243rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tyner Academy relied on the efforts of Rodney Henderson iii, who scored 14 points, and Kohl Ward, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Pinkerton, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences was fully in charge on Monday, breezing past Hixson 77-39 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences.
Tyner Academy pushed their record up to 18-3 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points per game. As for Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season.
Tyner Academy strolled past Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 67-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tyner Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
