The Pueblo East Eagles lost against the Discovery Canyon Thunder back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Pueblo East fell 44-35 to Discovery Canyon. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pueblo East in their matchups with Discovery Canyon: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Pueblo East still got an impressive performance from Izaiah Trujillo, who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds. Trujillo scored a full 42.9% of Pueblo East's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Micah Herring was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Pueblo East's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Discovery Canyon, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Pueblo East will be playing at home against Mesa Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Discovery Canyon and Pueblo County will face off at 2:30 p.m. on December 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
