Meanwhile, Soroco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Sangre de Cristo at home and fell 50-14.
Las Animas' victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-0. As for Soroco, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
