The Franklin Monroe Jets will head out on the road to face off against the Jonathan Alder Pioneers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Franklin Monroe has not done well against Preble Shawnee recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. It was close, but Franklin Monroe ultimately received the gift of a 43-41 win from a begrudging Jetssquad. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Alder waltzed into their match Saturday with three straight wins but they left with four. They put the hurt on Kenton Ridge with a sharp 44-22 win. Given Jonathan Alder's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while Kenton Ridge is ranked 744th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The win got Franklin Monroe back to even at 4-4. As for Jonathan Alder, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
