Kentridge put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past Mt. Rainier 53-29. Given Kentridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Mt. Rainier is ranked 208th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kentridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sydney Esperanza, who scored 11 points along with seven steals. Another player making a difference was Raelyn Ofrancia, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Federal Way's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Decatur, falling 62-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Federal Way has suffered yet this season.
Kentridge's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Federal Way, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.
Everything came up roses for Kentridge against Federal Way in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 70-26 win. With Kentridge ahead 37-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
