The Centura Centurions lost against the Wood River Eagles back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Centura was beaten by Wood River 71-34. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Centura in their matchups with Wood River: they've now lost four in a row.
Centura's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Barrett Fries, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Zavery Jensen, who scored 9 points.
Centura's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wood River, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Centura will head out on the road to face off against Central City at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Wood River, they will be playing at home against Adams Central on Tuesday.
