After a string of four wins, the Atkinson County Rebels's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 57-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Livonia.
Despite the loss, Atkinson County saw an underclassman step up: Ja'Kari Northcutt scored 25 points.
Atkinson County's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Livonia, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.
Atkinson County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Amant at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. St. Amant knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Atkinson County likes a good challenge. Livonia will finish 2023 at home by hosting Pleasant Hill at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Pleasant Hill is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.
