Basketball Recap: Ouray Gets the Win

If Rangely wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Ouray, they should've done a better job of containing Cavan Pasek. The Ouray Trojans strolled past the Rangely Panthers with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 62-46 thanks in part to Pasek, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 14 boards. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Conner Hill, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 16 points and eight rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Despite the defeat, Rangely had strong showings from Landon Bollinger, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 14 points in addition to eight boards and three steals, and Kacey Allred, who posted 15 points. Bollinger is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Clay Allred, who had six points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Ouray now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Rangely, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 2-2.

Ouray didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-36 victory against Dove Creek on the 14th. As for Rangely, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 44-37 defeat against De Beque on the 14th.
