The T.C. Roberson Rams will head out on the road to square off against the McDowell Titans at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
On Wednesday, T.C. Roberson was able to grind out a solid victory over Erwin, taking the game 58-49. Given T.C. Roberson's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Erwin is ranked 482nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
T.C. Roberson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacob McGraw, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Max McDowell was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven steals.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, McDowell beat A.C. Reynolds 54-49 on Tuesday.
It was another big night for Rylan Parkins, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Zack Reese, who scored nine points.
T.C. Roberson is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for McDowell, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. T.C. Roberson hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 57 points per game. However, it's not like McDowell struggles in that department as they've been averaging 69.3 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
T.C. Roberson came up short against McDowell in their previous meeting on January 3rd, falling 62-57. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of McDowell's Eli Elliott, who scored 23 points. Now that T.C. Roberson knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
