On Friday, The King City Wildkats faced the South Nodaway Longhorns in a battle between two of the state's top teams. King City was dealt a 54-8 defeat at the hands of South Nodaway. While losing is never fun, King City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while South Nodaway is ranked fifth).
King City has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for South Nodaway, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
King City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South Nodaway will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Worth County/Northeast Nodaway. Worth County/Northeast Nodaway is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
