On Friday, Carroll County got the win against Shawnee by a conclusive 19-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.
Dalton Wilson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wilson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Ogden, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brayden McIntyre, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Carroll County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shawnee only posted a batting average of .286.
Meanwhile, on Friday Grant County's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 11-10 W against Scott County. That's two games straight that the Braves have won by just one run.
Colton Alexander was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. James Ely was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Carroll County's record is now 2-0. As for Grant County, their record now sits at 4-0.
Carroll County got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Grant County by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
