The Bay Rockets gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They really took it to Buckeye for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-17 win at home. With Bay ahead 33-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Bay can attribute much of their success to Grace Manoloff, who scored 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Sharpnack, who scored 8 points.
Bay's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Buckeye, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Bay will head out on the road to face off against Lakewood at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Lakewood is ranked 475th, while Bay is ranked 484th). As for Buckeye, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westlake at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
