After a string of five wins, the Southern Alamance Patriots's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 76-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of Burlington Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, Southern Alamance can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Burlington Christian Academy is ranked 77th).
Southern Alamance's loss came despite strong showings from Chris Epps and Jordan Moore. Epps scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Moore scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern Alamance will face off against Eastern Alamance at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Eastern Alamance knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 contests -- so hopefully Southern Alamance likes a good challenge. Hopefully Forsyth Home Educators focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
