Savannah Christian extended the longest winning streak in A Region 3A this week by beating Portal, 35-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Calvary Day made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,601 from 5,007. The advance stemmed from a 48-12 victory over Jenkins County last week.
Savannah Country Day's Heys McMath and Ben Johnson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. McMath has thrown for 982 yards this season, while Johnson has 56 catches for 582 yards. The Cavaliers' Jake Clemens leads the league in rushing yards with 643.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Calvary Day takes on Claxton. At the moment, the Cavaliers are in first, while the Tigers are in third.
Claxton led A Region 3A in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on the Hornets.
