Baseball Recap: Silverado Finds Home Field Redemption Against Desert Pines

There's no place like home for Silverado, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on the Desert Pines Jaguars with a sharp 16-0 win on Monday. Considering the Skyhawks have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Silverado let Hogan Hawkins and Adam Rhodus run wild. Hawkins went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs, while Rhodus scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Rhodus a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kanoa Wolfgang, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Silverado is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Desert Pines, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-11-1.

Desert Pines wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-0 loss against Sierra Vista on the 15th. Hopefully Silverado payed attention to the Jaguars' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Jaguars at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
