The Shoals Jug Rox will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Rock Creek Academy Lions at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Last Friday, Shoals lost to Vincennes Rivet at home by a decisive 52-38 margin. While losing is never fun, Shoals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while Vincennes Rivet is ranked 139th).
Meanwhile, Rock Creek Academy entered their tilt with Eastern with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Rock Creek Academy took down Eastern 42-25 last Saturday.
Aleeyah Brown was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 21 rebounds. Those 21 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was jayli smith, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Shoals' defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Rock Creek Academy, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
