The Williamsport Millionaires the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Cumberland Valley Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on January 13th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard on Saturday.
Last Monday, Williamsport beat Selinsgrove 60-48. The win was all the more spectacular given Williamsport's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while Selinsgrove is ranked 187th).
Meanwhile, Cumberland Valley had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.7 points), and they went ahead and made it 11 on Friday. They blew past Central Dauphin East 66-41. Cumberland Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season.
Nolan Buzalka continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ron Nguyen, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Williamsport's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Cumberland Valley, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
