In what's become a running theme this season, the West Wendover Wolverines gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Sierra Lutheran 58-19 on the road. The win was nothing new for West Wendover as they're now sitting on 15 straight.
West Wendover was led to victory by Osvaldo Carrillo and Adryan Carlos. Carrillo scored 16 points along with six steals, while Carlos dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Carlos is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Narcizo Silvas, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Sierra Lutheran still got an impressive performance from John Salonites, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Sierra Lutheran struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as West Wendover racked up 15 assists.
West Wendover's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-4. As for Sierra Lutheran, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
West Wendover will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Silver Stage at 2:30 p.m. on February 3rd. West Wendover is facing Silver Stage at the right time seeing as Silver Stage is stuck on a 18-game losing streak. As for Sierra Lutheran, they will play host again and welcome Battle Mountain, where tip off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Battle Mountain is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 61.5 points per game this season.
