The Lincoln Christian Crusaders will take on the Malcolm Clippers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lincoln Christian 3.4, Malcolm 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Lincoln Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Lincoln Lutheran on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 8-7. That's two games in a row now that the Crusaders have lost by just one run.

Caleb DeWitt put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Grant DeHaan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while going 3-for-5. Eilam Bryson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.
Meanwhile, Malcolm waltzed into their contest on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Bulldogs. The Clippers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by eight runs or more this season.
Mason Wisnieski was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Mcgreer, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
Malcolm always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Platte only posted an OBP of .400.
Lincoln Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Malcolm, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lincoln Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Malcolm struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Lincoln Christian might still be hurting after the 13-2 loss they got from Malcolm when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Crusaders have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
