St. Stanislaus got a massive performance out of Stephen Hutchison, who went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Hutchison a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooks Ilgenfritz, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
St. Stanislaus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wesson only posted an OBP of .371.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Seminary, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 18-6 margin over St. Patrick on Tuesday.
Jomarrion 'JoJo' Flowers was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Eric McCullum was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
St. Stanislaus' record now sits at 22-12. As for Seminary, their record is now 27-6-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. St. Stanislaus has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Seminary struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
St. Stanislaus took their win against Seminary when the teams last played back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 9-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rock-a-Chaws since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
