After a string of four wins, the Exeter Monarchs's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Caruthers by a score of 41-39.
Despite the loss, Exeter still got an impressive performance from Andrew Taylor, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Taylor scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blaine Mcfall, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and six blocks.
Exeter's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Caruthers, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Exeter's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lindsay at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Lindsay is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Caruthers and Summit Charter Collegiate Academy will face off at 3:45 p.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Summit Charter Collegiate Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
