The Centennial Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Vero Beach Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Centennial turned things around against South Fork on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Bulldogs.

Armani Estevez
Armani Estevez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Centennial is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 0-4-1 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Rylan Efron was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Nathaniel Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Vero Beach, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let Central get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Friday. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Cobras recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Vero Beach also got a great performance from Cody Morgan as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Morgan has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Charles Singletary, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Another player making a difference was Hunter Johnston, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Centennial's record is now 2-5-1. As for Vero Beach, their record now sits at 5-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Centennial has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Vero Beach struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Centennial couldn't quite get it done against Vero Beach in their previous meeting last Tuesday as they fell 4-0. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
