Basketball Recap: Fleming Falls Short of Stratton in the Playoffs

Fleming and Stratton squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Fleming had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Stratton Eagles, falling 57-29. The Wildcats have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Siena Donnelson, who posted three points and five boards. Donnelson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Hayley Chamberlain was another key player, shooting 56% from the field en route to 12 points.

Fleming's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Stratton, they have been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

Fleming has already played their next game, a 35-24 win against Hi-Plains on the 14th. As for Stratton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-39 defeat against McClave on the 14th.
