Northeastern has won four straight games at home, while Cumberland Valley has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Bobcats will welcome the Eagles at 4:15 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Northeastern's win against Central York wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bobcats won by a run and slipped past the Panthers 3-2. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Conner Rippo made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
In other batting news, Derek Gross was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Cumberland Valley had just enough and edged out Mifflin County 3-2 on Wednesday.
Cumberland Valley also got a great performance from Curtis Shinn as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Shinn a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alex Crosby, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.
Cumberland Valley has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Northeastern, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Northeastern has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cumberland Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
