The Northwestern Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Eastern Hancock Royals at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Two weeks ago, Northwestern strolled past Wabash with points to spare, taking the game 60-43.
Among those leading the charge was Lexi Hale, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Berkley Wray, who scored 11 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
Meanwhile, Eastern Hancock put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 60-26 victory over Wapahani. Eastern Hancock might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Eastern Hancock found their leader in underclassman McKenzie Koch, who scored 24 points along with 3 steals. Koch is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last four games she's played. Ruby White was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 6 rebounds.
Northwestern pushed their record up to 2-5 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.7 points per game. As for Eastern Hancock, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
Northwestern barely slipped by Eastern Hancock in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, winning 47-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northwestern since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
