Hunter Hurja and Felix Flores provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Kings Christian. The longest such play in Victory (8 Man) this season, the connection resulted in 65 yards.
Desert Chapel extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Crossroads Christian, 66-16. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Eagles.
Desert Christian Academy's dynamic duo of Hurja and Flores proved tough for the Crusaders to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hurja threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns and Flores had 194 yards receiving. Bruno Purthus helped Desert Christian Academy's passing attack out by catching two balls for 38 yards.
Ryan Green was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 175 yards on 19 carries as Joshua Springs defeated Kings Christian. Teammate Max Renforth added to the ground attack by rushing for 102 yards.
Desert Christian Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Conquerors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hurja has thrown for 920 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Marshall Webb has 28 catches for 470 yards. Nate Frahmen leads the league in rushing with 545 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Desert Christian Academy and Bloomington Christian. Scott Gilbert's team enters the game ranked first in the state, while the Ravens ranks 17th.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Lightning take on Desert Chapel. Joshua Springs' offense has racked up 314 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Jim Donaldson's team has allowed only 48 on the year.
The Eagles took down Crossroads Christian 66-16 last week, the largest margin of any game.
