Bendle barely beat Bentley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers blew past the Bulldogs 17-3 on Thursday. The victory was just business as usual for the Tigers, who after three games remain undefeated this season.
Landon Mattis made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Juma Mkakile was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Mkakile is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Bendle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bentley only posted an OBP of .400.
