The Wells Wells CSD will head out on the road to challenge the Willsboro Central Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Wells and five for the Warriors.
Last Thursday, Wells was the victim of a tough 61-36 defeat at the hands of the Eagles. Wells has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Willsboro Central lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Wednesday was a bit more commanding. They were beaten by Chazy 56-14. While losing is never fun, Willsboro Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 631st, while the Eagles are ranked 269th).
Wells' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7. As for Willsboro Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Wells beat the Warriors 43-33 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wells since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
