The Arvada Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Platte Canyon Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Arvada is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Arvada took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over Mitchell.
Aaron Najera made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Najera was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those stolen bases marked the first that he has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Cameron Henderson was incredible, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Ramirez, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Platte Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 14-1 to Dawson School.
Platte Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Arvada, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-3.
Platte Canyon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Arvada has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .522. It's a different story for Platte Canyon, though, as they've only averaged .336. Will they be able to contain Arvada's hitters?
Everything went Arvada's way against Platte Canyon in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Arvada made off with a 22-15 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
