Canadian have to be aching after a bruising 30-60 loss to Strother on Thursday. The loss was a vexing one since Canadian were expected to win based on their state ranking.
Senior Zach Roach was the offensive standout of the match for Strother, as he caught passes for 156 yards and 3 touchdowns. On the defensive end, senior Ty Lemay was a one-man blockade for them with four sacks and nine tackles.
This is the second loss in a row for Canadian and nudges their record down to 5-3. The win got Strother back to even at 4-4.
The teams are both focusing on improving their conference standings in their upcoming contests. Canadian will square off against Wetumka at 7:00 PM next week. Wetumka have averaged 45 points over the course of their past three games, so Canadian might be in for a challenge. As for Strother, they will face off against Maud. Maud took a loss in their last contest and are no doubt out to reverse Strother's good fortune.
